The Whimsical Illusion Of Love…

A sonnet for those guys who were betrayed in love….

Through rose glasses the world he viewed

Happily, the unacceptable, did he exclude…

His instincts, he fiercely subdued

Though in reality, he was eschewed…

Oh! The unholy treatment that was spewed!

Thoughtlessly, did the extrude,

Unmindful of the plight that ensued…

For all he did, there’s gratitude!

Himself, did he foolishly delude…

While devil and angel did collude,

In the ongoing inward feud,

Desperation and despair did he exude…

Here he sat, a mourning dove…

All for the whimsical illusion of love!!

Here he sat a mourning dove
His wings of feelings still flying to love

With defeated will, good bye he bade
But the memories rest yet in his hearts hide 🙂
